The Brooklyn Royal Giants were a team from the early days of professional black baseball, named after the Royal Café in Brooklyn. After many years as an independent team, the Royal Giants joined the Eastern Colored League in 1923. This sterling cap is a replication of their uniform during the 1927 season, four years into their league campaign. The cap has a 100% wool upper with horsehair buckram crown, satin taping and felt emblem.
